A Sewer Problem Doesn't Have to Be a Guessing Game

Recurring backups, a sewage smell in the yard, or a plumber telling you it’s “probably the line” are unsettling, especially when you can’t see what’s actually wrong underground. We run a camera before we recommend anything, so you see the actual problem instead of taking our word for it.

Camera and locating equipment owned and run in-house

Honest options: repair the section that’s failing, or replace the line

Traditional open-cut excavation, done right, not a shortcut we can’t stand behind

A Repair on One Section, or the Whole Line Replaced

Most sewer calls land in one of these two places. Either way, we walk you through it honestly before any digging starts.

One Section Is the Problem

A single crack, a joint separation, or root intrusion in one part of the line, with the rest of the pipe still sound. That’s a repair, not a full replacement, and we’ll tell you when that’s genuinely the case.

The Whole Line Is Past Repairing

Recurring backups no matter how many times it’s cleared, a line that’s bellied, back-graded, or broken in multiple places. At that point, a full replacement stops the pattern instead of managing it one clog at a time.

Signs You May Have a Sewer Line Problem

If several of these sound familiar, it’s worth a camera inspection before another cable clearing.

Multiple fixtures backing up at the same time

The same clog keeps coming back no matter how often it’s cleared

A sewage smell in the yard or near a cleanout

Slow drains throughout the house, not just one fixture

Wet, unusually green, or sunken patches in the yard

A home with older cast iron or clay sewer piping

What We Handle Under Sewer Line Repair & Replacement

Camera diagnosis, in-house locating, and traditional open-cut work, all from one team.

Sewer Line Repair

Root intrusion, cracks, and joint separation fixed on the section that’s actually failing, confirmed by camera before and after.

Sewer Line Replacement

A line too far gone to repair, replaced with new pipe, inspected, and backfilled properly.

Sewer Cleanout Installation

A new two-way cleanout installed where there isn’t one, or where an old one is buried and can’t be found, so the line can actually be serviced going forward.

Camera Inspection & Locating

In-house camera and locating equipment used to find the real problem and mark the line before anyone digs.

How We Diagnose and Replace a Sewer Line

A sewer replacement is disruptive enough without also being a mystery. Here’s what actually happens, not the sales-pitch version.

Replacement, Inspection & Restoration

How the Call Starts

It usually starts one of two ways. You call us out for an assessment, or we find the real problem while clearing what looked like a routine drain clog.

Either way, we run a camera first. You get real options, not a single take-it-or-leave-it quote.

Repair or Replace

Once the camera shows us what’s actually going on, we match the fix to the problem. A single failing section gets a targeted repair, and a line that’s bellied, back-graded, or broken in multiple places gets a full replacement.

Either way, you get a straight recommendation and traditional open-cut work done right, so the line is fixed for the long haul instead of patched to fail again.

The Work Itself

Most runs we replace are around 60 feet, from a cleanout to where the line ties in, though some go longer. Once you choose an option, we collect a deposit and schedule it, usually a two or three person crew.

Day one is digging and prep, day two finishes the pipe, and inspection gets its own day before it’s covered back up. Then we backfill and restore the yard, about four days start to finish.

What We Won't Take On

We handle sewer line replacements down to about four feet underground. Beyond that depth, the work requires shoring, and that’s not something we’re currently equipped to do.

If your line runs deeper, or a section needs to be bored under the ground rather than trenched, we’ll tell you and bring in a subcontractor for that part of the job.

Protect Your Older McMinnville Home with a Sewer Cleanout

A lot of what we find underground in and around McMinnville comes down to the age of the neighborhood.

Why a Cleanout Matters on an Older Home

Homes with older cast iron sewer piping very often don’t have a cleanout in the yard at all, or had one that’s since been buried under decades of landscaping. Without one, there’s no clean access point to service the line, so every call starts with finding a way in before the real problem can be addressed.

When we install one on an older home, we recommend a two-way cleanout. It lets us clean both back toward the house and out toward the main line, usually covering a run of up to about 100 feet from a single access point, so every future service call is faster and less invasive.

We had a great experience with Sean. He was on time, called when he said he would, explained everything clearly, and gave us a final estimate before getting started. The work was done within the time he estimated, and he cleaned everything up when he was finished. He was friendly, professional, and really easy to work with. It’s not often you find a contractor who does everything right from start to finish. We would absolutely use him again and highly recommend him.

Linda and Jerry are friendly and professional. Jerry was on time, gave a fair estimate quickly, and did the work competently and completely. We had two separate services, and on the second we were not at home but felt very comfortable allowing him access to the house. We will definitely call My Plumber Now again- although hopefully not too soon!

This company just completed a total re-pipe of my house. Because the house is older, I was pretty nervous about what they might run into. This team did an outstanding job. Can't say enough good about them. Fast, professional, creative problem solvers, experienced, organized, efficient, clean and considerate. Will always recommend them and hire them for any future plumbing work. Great team!

My family and I had a full home repipe done along with a new toilet and water heater installed at the same time. The staff at MyPlumberNow were friendly, professional, honest, and conscientious from start to finish. I had many questions, given that it was such a large expense. But they walked me through every little thing and were even good enough to shift their approach to warranties after talking to me about it. I went out for four quotes on this job, and their price won't be beat. Even the inspector was impressed with and pointed out where they had gone above and beyond what was needed. These people do great work at a good price. Highly recommended!

I researched local plumbers and checked the Better Business Bureau before selecting a plumbing company to replace the polybutylene pipes in my home. I’m so glad I chose MyPlumberNow. Sean and his team were professional from the first communication through installation day and all the way to the final touches. Their quote wasn’t necessarily the lowest, but their timeline, workmanship, warranty and the overall experience proved they were the best value. For a major job like this, going cheap isn't the smartest option! I will absolutely turn to MyPlumberNow for any future plumbing needs and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to friends and family. Thank you for a job well done and on time!

My plumber now made scheduling very easy and they were very reliable. The guy, Trevor, doing the plumbing repair was knowledgeable and able to share the details with me in a way that I could understand easily. He explained everything and even showed pictures. He kept everything in the house clean and tidy and I really appreciated that. Everyone I've come in contact with at this company has been very nice.

We had a leak in a pipe in the garage, I called My Plumber Now, they had Jerry and Caesar out by early afternoon. They didn’t have the specialty part in the truck but they went back to the shop and found one, they came right back and replaced it. We were only out of hot water for a few hours! Thanks so much!

I have used Sean several times troubleshooting work other plumbers have done. Not only is he very nice, but he's also very professional, prompt to respond, and on time. We will continue to use My Plumber Now ans Sean and we would ecommend him to anyone. This was the first time meeting Trevor and he is a mirror to Sean in his kindness and ability to cross everything off the list of the various jobs that pop up. Thank you My Plumber Now for such great service.

Sewer Line Repair & Replacement Questions, Answered

Not directly. If your pipe is straight and not bellied, pipe lining or pipe bursting might genuinely be the better option, and in that case we’ll refer you to a contractor who handles trenchless work. When the pipe is bellied, back-graded, or too broken for lining, digging it out and replacing it is the more reliable fix, and that’s the work we do ourselves.

We handle sewer line replacements down to about four feet underground. Beyond that depth, the work requires shoring, which we’re not currently equipped to provide, and we’ll bring in a subcontractor for that portion of the job.

Yes. A missing or buried cleanout is common on older McMinnville homes, especially those with cast iron piping. We typically install a two-way cleanout, which lets us service both directions of the line from a single access point.

It depends on what the camera shows. A single failing section with the rest of the line still sound is usually a repair. Recurring backups, a bellied or back-graded line, or breaks in multiple places usually mean the whole line needs to be replaced. We’ll give you a straight answer after we’ve actually seen it.

Some digging is unavoidable with traditional excavation, but we protect the surrounding area with plywood while we work and restore the dig site afterward, smoothing the dirt and reseeding depending on the season.

More than the visible labor. The length and depth of the run, prep and permit time, the equipment needed to locate and diagnose the line, and whether any part of the job needs to be subcontracted all factor in. We’ll walk you through your specific estimate on-site rather than quote a number blind.

Our regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Same-day and next-day scheduling covers most urgent sewer calls within that window.
